1998 MTV Video Music Awards aired live on September 10, 1998, honoring
the best music videos from June 17, 1997, to June 12, 1998. Hosted by
Ben Stiller at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, the event celebrated the year's top music videos.
Madonna
was the standout of the night, taking home six awards from her nine
nominations. Her song "Ray of Light" won five out of its eight
nominations, including Video of the Year and Best Female Video. She also
won an award for "Frozen," which had only one nomination. Besides
Madonna, the only other multiple award winners were Will Smith and The
